Is carbon steel strong?

If i get a samurai sword made of carbon steel, what is the hardest thing i can hit before it breaks? Or will it not break?

In this case "carbon steel" simply means it's not stainless steel. It'll rust if you get it wet.

If you hit a concrete block you'd probably chip and mangle the edge pretty bad. I also think you'd get some nasty bruises on your hands. That's called "abuse."

I doubt you have the strength to actually break it.
