Is it possible to buy genuine dental tools at reasonable cost?
I'd like to purchase a small set of genuine dental tools for cleaning teeth and fishing out the occasional embedded food fragment from under gums. It seems as if many of the cheap sets available at well-known sites have poor-quality carbon steel handles inset with stainless steel tips. Are there inexpensive sets made entirely from stainless steel, and if so, is it worth purchasing such a set? I know there are different grades of so-called "stainless steel". I don't mind paying more for decent quality, but I don't want to be ripped off by a vendor that charges sky-high prices for tools that really aren't that much better.Best answer:

You might want to look into jewelry design equipment websites. I use them for carving wax models for casting into jewelry. It's been awhile but as far as I know you can get decent deals on equipment.
I don't know if you've tried it yet but you might also want to try E-Bay.

Brushing and flossing your teeth are habits that are not instinctive, but rather have to be taught to our children. During the learning process, it may be hard to make sure your child is always caring for their teeth as well as they need to be. It also can be hard for small hands to effectively control the toothbrush to clean all surfaces.
At Houston Uptown Dentists, we recommend the use of sealants for both children and teens to help protect their smiles from cavities and decay. Sealants help to cover the pits and grooves in your teeth, which are where most cavities form. They act like a barrier to help protect your teeth from cavities.
Sealant is a thin layer of plastic that’s brushed onto your teeth and cured with a special light. You won’t be able to feel them easily on your teeth because they’re thin and are applied to the pits and grooves. They aren’t easily detected by the normal eye, so you can smile with confidence while knowing your smile is protected from decay.
This is a topical dental treatment, so there’s no drilling or other techniques that could cause discomfort. We make sure to use sealants that do not contain the chemical BPA (Bisphenol-A), following FDA recommendations that it is potentially harmful to children.
As a parent, we know that you’ll want to do whatever you can to help your child’s teeth stay healthy and ensure they’re learning the proper oral care habits. We can help with sealant treatments to create a barrier that if properly maintained can protect teeth from tooth decay for a lifetime.
